Our Story

Founded in 2012, PUVI is a Black woman-owned company that strives to make simple, beautiful products that seamlessly fit into your everyday life. Forever elevating the daily experience and making life more delicious. Our first product is the PUVItie- a patent-pending, adjustable, all-silk hair accessory.

PUVIties were inspired by our founder’s love of the ballet bun, having trained for 15 years. When she stopped dancing and grew out her natural hair, she became frustrated with elastic hair ties that were clearly not made for her hair. After breaking countless elastic hair ties and trying to avoid breakage, she created the first PUVItie from a pair of ripped silk pants and the rest is history.

PUVIties are designed in New York City and manufactured in Detroit, Michigan by a woman-owned company.
